The Local Market

The local market is an interesting place. There was an interesting combination of stalls. There was a huge second hand book store that took up about a quarter of the first hall. It hade a huge variey of different books and series' of books. 

There were two main halls, in which were a variety of different things.

one of the halls was a slightly open plan stone floored affair in which there were stalls like a butcher, a plant selling stall and a tools stall. This was the slightly less cluttered of the two halls, and it had a free stall space. This interested me and I might consider contacting the market manager to see what sort of rate is charged. It isnt a very big space, however it is equipped with a set of small shelves on the back wall, and a glass cover and stand.

 The other hall was bigger, but was much more densly packed. As such, it had a sort of chlostrophobic kind of feel, in which there were a lot of things piled high. There were bookshelves that were taller than I am! And at "6,1 I am not small.


There were an awfully large amount of second hand books, many different types, sizes and genres. I was surprised by exactly how many books there actually were in the place! I also realised that the same woman rented around one quarter of the entire hall! There were mostly books, but there were also cards and some household items like crockery or vases.


There was also a stall that contained some DIY and gardening products like ant killer, hammers, spanners, tape etc. There was also jewellery with rings, braids all that kind of stuff. There was even a small printing service run out of a large stall, that did a variety of things including A3 printing.


All in all, there was a variety of different stalls and things on. It might be interesting to see what would happen if I setup a bespoke wooden toys and puzzles stall for example. I Will see what works maybe.
